President's
Welcome
Greetings and welcome to the Powerful Pomona Area Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated! We’re delighted you’ve taken the time to visit our website and learn more about our beloved organization.
I am deeply honored to serve as Chapter President for the 2025–2027 program years, and I’m proud to lead alongside a dynamic Executive Board committed to excellence, inclusion, and impact.
Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated is a vibrant organization of mothers with children ages 2 to 19, united in our dedication to cultivating the next generation of African American leaders. Through leadership development, community service, philanthropy, and civic engagement, we work to create meaningful change while advocating for legislation that improves the lives of all children.
Founded in 1982, the Pomona Area Chapter is part of the Fabulous Far West Region, under the inspiring leadership of Regional Director Monique Arrington. For over four decades, our chapter has remained steadfast in its mission to uplift children, families, and communities throughout the Pomona Valley.
Inspired by the bold vision of our Founders in 1938, our Mother Members continue to serve with purpose, passion, and pride—committed to nurturing excellence and empowering youth to thrive in every arena of life.
As we embark on this new program year, the 2025–2027 Executive Board is excited to collaborate with our families and community partners to deliver intentional, inclusive, and impactful programming—the very heart of Jack and Jill.
Thank you again for visiting. We invite you to explore, engage, and celebrate with us as we continue the powerful legacy of Jack and Jill in the Pomona Area.
Long Live Jack and Jill!

Powerful
Pomona
Area History
The founding members of the Pomona area chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. were Gloria White, from the Chicago North Shore Chapter, and Janice Dawsey from the Pasadena Chapter. Realizing the potential growth in the Pomona Valley area, other mothers joined them in January of 1980 and with the help of supporting members from adjacent Jack and Jill chapters, this small group persevered in the journey to achieve chapter status.
